Description:The Atlanta Community Food Bank is a nonprofit organization supplying food and grocery items to over 600 partner agencies serving families and individuals in 29 metro Atlanta and North Georgia counties.

Job Summary

The key purpose of the Customer Services Team Assistant-Work Study is to assist in the developing of tools and resources to gain insight on the needs of our Partner Agencies. While this position interacts with our partner agencies and may go into the community, they will be based at the ACFB.
Duties:Responsibilities and Duties

Grocery Floor
1. Provide high leverage engagement with agencies on Grocery Floor
a. Providing customer service and guidance on the Grocery Floor
b. To assist in developing exit interviews to gain insight on the needs of our Partner agencies.
c. Assisting in capturing weights and item codes when agencies are exiting the Grocery Floor
d. documenting captured weights and item codes on invoice
e. Assistance in recovery and replenishing the Grocery Floor when inventory levels are below standard
f. Contributing to the housekeeping of the Grocery Floor based off of clean/bright standards
g. Laser lining of product to meet merchandising standards.

Decision Making Authorities
• Input on needs assessment of agencies participating in community based assistance.

Major Interfaces
• Agency Services Team
• Other Departments which utilize Volunteer assistance within ACFB
• Other Non Profit Organizations
Qualifications:Qualifications

1. Education
a. At least one year work or internship experience with non-profit organizations is a plus.
b. Preference for those pursuing a degree in Social Work, Sociology or other related field.

2. Required qualifications
a. Excellent computer skills
b. Working knowledge of frequently-utilized computer programs such as Word, Publisher, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
c. Ability to work independently
d. Excellent oral communication skills
e. Ability to work with diverse populations throughout metro Atlanta
f. Must be able to work 1.5 days per week or a minimum of 12 hours per week.
g. Agree to abide by all state and federal laws, rules and regulations respecting confidentiality of a client’s information.

3. Preferred qualifications
a. Experience with clients from various socioeconomic backgrounds
b. Experience with community outreach
c. Experience with public speaking

This position works in a typical office setting. There may be extended periods of sitting, standing and/or bending; listening, talking and/or visual concentration; writing and/or computer use. This position would normally have routine opportunities to alter physical position or change eye focus. Lifting should not normally exceed 25 pounds. Travel will be required (1-2 days per week).
